MYLAR PHOTOSHOOT

It is one of the most interesting and versatile tools in the studio – I can not count the ways you can use mylar for creating photoshoots in your studio. It can be used as a backdrop itself, as an outfit for model or simple as a light source to create interesting patterns on the backdrop or on the model.

If you have it in your studio – try to use it in different ways and see what you can create. I bet you will be able to create something extraordinary. And here is my own session in which I used the following:

  • Mylar, hang on the light stand, it creates light streaks on my body and the backdrop (90 degree angle)
  • Handprinted backdrop from D’aponte Backdrops – it has silver elements that shine beautifully in the back
  • Roller – bought in the flower store
  • Blue light comes from small LED light LC 500R Mini Godox, which is powerful enough to fill the shadows with blue color
  • Key light source is BFP snoot from GODOX
  • Outfit – bodysuit from ZARA

Below you will find the images from this photoshoot, but if you want to learn more with me: I am opening an ONLINE CREATIVE MATERNITY PHOTOGRAPHY ACADEMY – 8 week educative program for those of you who struggle with creativity, want to go out of the routine and standard sessions and want to implement interesting extraordinary concepts to your offer. Program of this training is aimed at giving you tools to differentiate on the market and get new customers.

TIP: open this link on your phone, screenshot the below images. Create folder: POSING on your phone and save all your posing charts in one place so you can have easy access to them when you need them on your maternity or portrait session.

Alternatively: print the pictures and attach them to your mood board – mine hangs close to the place, where I stand while takich shots during my maternity sessions.

If you’re interested in exploring more posing techniques and learning how to use studio light to showcase your pregnant models in the best and most creative way, join us for a creative maternity photography workshop. These workshops are available in various locations. However, if you’re looking for a personalized 1-1 experience, I invite you to my studio in Warsaw, Poland. You can find all the details here: MATERNITY WORKSHOPS.
